Carbon Footprint Verification

Companies and organisations that calculate their CO2 footprint and actively reduce it are more competitive, recover faster after a crisis, and are more interesting to investors.

A CO2 footprint verified by Vinçotte has even more advantages: you are sure that you are on the right track, you increase your score on platforms like the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), and you can communicate to the outside world with full confidence. In some cases, you even meet a legal obligation to verify, such as with the European Emissions Trading Scheme (EU-ETS).

Within the framework of the European Green Deal, there are other initiatives that have been or are about to be implemented where verification by an independent third party is important, such as EU Taxonomy, Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, Carbon Removal Certification, expansion of the EU ETS.

We can verify both a company's and a product's footprint calculation.

Together with you, we determine how the verification will be carried out. Depending on your ambition and budget, you can opt for a limited assurance or a reasonable assurance. We check the calculation against internationally recognised standards such as ISO14064 for organisations, ISO14067 for products or the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. In addition, we check the primary data used such as kilometres driven, electricity consumption, gas consumption, etc.

You will receive a 'verification or assurance statement' that you can add to your carbon footprint. You will also receive a confidential report describing the verification activities carried out and suggestions for further improving your footprint calculation.
