ATEX (2014/34/EU, ATEX 114) - Directive on equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres

As a supplier or assembler of material used in an explosive atmosphere, you have a number of specific responsibilities.

If you produce material that is used in places where there is a risk of explosion, you must follow the ATEX directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX = atmosphères explosible), also known as ATEX-114.

More about ATEX certification and compliance:

As a third party, Vinçotte can always offer a totally independent and impartial assessment of your equipment, security system or assembly, based on the requirements of the ATEX Directive, the European harmonised standards, and the experience of our experts.

We offer support for:

  • Reviewing the design: Are suitable protection methods selected, are they correctly implemented? Is the right equipment selected?
  • Documentation review: are all necessary and relevant documents present, complete and correct?
  • inspection of the unit, security system or assembly: based on various inspections we will verify whether the design is carried out correctly and equipment is installed correctly.
  • Support with the risk analysis: specific for your product and intended use.
  • Support with the technical documentation: so you meet all requirements of the directive.
