Self-checking system for the retail trade in general food (**)
Since 1st January 2005, all operators are subject to Self-checking, traceability and mandatory reporting. Compliance with these three cornerstones enables the safety of products placed on the market to be guaranteed.

As a certification body approved by the AFSCA (Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain), Vinçotte Agrifood carries out inspections in the distribution sector and issues Self-checking inspection certificates as well as the Smiley, a distinctive visual symbol of establishments delivering their products to the end consumer.
Depending on your activities and your additional processing plants (butchery, bakery, hotel and restaurant trade) our qualified inspectors assess your system, practice, infrastructure and equipment.
Following a favourable inspection:
- You receive a detailed report that enables you to better manage food safety in your establishment
- You receive a certificate
- You receive a Smiley which assures your customer that you comply with the requirements relating to food safety and traceability
- Vinçotte encodes the audit certification into the AFSCA database, which reduces the frequency of checks
