Risicoanalyse branddetectie volgens NBN S21-100-1 & -2

A periodic inspection in accordance with the NBN S21-100-1 standard must be carried out by an accredited inspection body or recognised inspection organisation, such as Vinçotte. We draw up a fire detection risk analysis for you, check your building plans and help you install fire detectors.

We work with you to identify areas at risk of fire. We look at the areas that need detectors. We also discuss how the fire control panel works and which fire scenarios apply to your building.

When undertaking a new construction, renovation or extension project, it is important to identify the risks relating to fire safety and ensure that your design addresses them. Vinçotte is the right partner to help you with this.

Who carries out the NBN S21-100-1 & -2 standard inspection?

The NBN S21-100-1 & -2 standard inspection, which relates to fire detection and fire alarm systems in Belgium, is carried out by accredited inspection bodies such as Vinçotte.

Our drone inspects smoke detectors in high or difficult to reach locations

How often is the inspection of smoke detectors done?

NBN S 21-100-1:2021 stipulates that smoke detectors must be inspected at least once a year. The inspection must be carried out by a qualified person.

However, checking smoke detectors can sometimes be challenging. In high spaces, such as production halls, it is difficult for inspectors to reach the smoke detectors. This can lead to delays, production interruptions and safety risks.

The solution

We offer a personalised solution for checking smoke detectors in high spaces or hard-to-reach places. We use a patented drone to reach the smoke detectors, without causing delays, production interruptions or safety risks.

Who does what in the fire detection risk analysis according to NBN S21-100-1 & -2?

The installer:

  • Prepares the technical and administrative file.
  • This file includes the risk analysis, the installation plan, the cable diagrams and the test reports.

The accredited inspection body (Vinçotte):

  • Carries out the initial inspection when the system is put into service.
  • Carries out periodic inspections to ensure that the system continues to comply with all standards.
  • Checks the reliable operation of the system and the correctness of all documentation.

What are the advantages of a fire detection risk analysis according to NBN S21-100-1 & -2?

When you ask Vinçotte to perform a fire detection risk analysis, you can be sure of the outcome. This is always done in accordance with the NBN S21-100-1 and NBN S21-100-2 standards. You avoid any surprises after the construction of your project. This ensures the safety of the building and its visitors.

What is the purpose of the NBN S21-100 standards for fire detection systems?

NBN S21-100-1: This standard provides guidelines for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection systems.

NBN S21-100-2: This standard focuses on the required qualifications and competences of persons involved in the installation and maintenance of the systems.

These standards are mandatory in various buildings, such as industrial buildings, hotels, car parks, childcare facilities and retirement homes.

The standards are also regularly updated to keep pace with the latest technological developments.

The NBN S21-100-1 & -2 standards apply to both new and existing buildings equipped with a fixed fire detection and fire alarm system.
