Fire protection training: new standards NBN S 21-100 & NBN S 21-112 (2025)
During this course you will learn all about these standards series, and especially how to apply and deal with them in practice. Theory is coupled with various use cases and experiences, making it clear how to design, install, maintain and use a standards-compliant installation.

- Complete overview of the standards NBN S 21-100-1: 2025, S 21-100-2: 2015 for fire detection and NBN S 21-112-1/2/3 for alarm systems.
- Specific modifications and new topics described in the versions published in 2025 and differences from version 2021.
- Who is responsible for what tasks concerning the realization of fire detection and fire alarm systems?
- How to install to achieve compliance of the installed system?
- Full overview of the various monitoring levels and adjustments to the requirements regarding volumes that do not require monitoring.
- How to install compliant installations with specific detection technology, such as linear heat detectors, BEAMS and aspiration systems.
- How to handle hybrid installations, wireless and wired detectors.
- How to report alarms and faults correctly to an alarm center.
- In addition, various explanations will also be given regarding non-technical requirements, which are important in order to deliver a compliant installation.
Objectives:
This course will provide a good foundation for building and managing a fire detection system in full compliance with the applicable standards, through all the steps of the process.
We will elaborate on the importance of a good risk analysis as a basis for designing a good concept and making an appropriate study to select the right technology and products.
Furthermore, the importance and responsibilities of all parties involved will be clearly defined.
In short, at the end of the day, your main questions will be answered and you will be able to make a good plan of action to properly design, install and manage your fire detection installation according to these applicable standards.
Practical information:
A basic knowledge of fire detection installation and technology is required.
The participant is expected to be in possession of the standard NBN S 21-100 version 2021. This can be obtained from the NBN web shop (www.NBN.be).
