As part of the audit trail for IFS Food the Vinçotte auditor is required to assess your company's ability to meet the conditions specified in the IFS Food standard. Under this heading, an examination is made of the quality system and HACCP system, along with your ability in practice to deliver products that are in keeping with your customers' specifications in terms of hygiene and suitable manufacturing practices. The IFS Food standard is an internationally recognised standard with over 11,000 certified companies in more than 95 countries. IFS Food brings added value to the manufacturing and marketing efforts you make to ensure the safety and quality of your products.

IFS Food Standard

IFS Food applies to processed products (processing sector) or in the event of production contamination hazards during the primary packaging stage. The IFS Food reference system is relevant for all agri-food companies, particularly those making private label products, as it contains many requirements related to compliance with customer specifications.

IFS has specific standards for logistics centres (IFS Logistics) and for companies importing and exporting products (IFS Broker).

Certification according to the IFS Food standard may be combined with another certification, such as certification according to the BRC standard, the FSSC 22000 standard, the ISO 22000 standard or according to the Self-Appraisal guides.
