Electricity
Electricity is a form of energy that is taken for granted to such an extent that we are barely even aware of it anymore. That is, until the light goes out. The same light that Thomas Edison produced for the first time in 1879. The use of electric power is so recent that Vinçotte itself in fact predates it!
So it’s not surprising that today we inspect and monitor everything relating to electricity: from the production of electricity (hydroelectric power stations, nuclear power stations, wind turbines, total energy) and the transmission system and distribution cabins, to the machines in companies and the distributing board in your house. More than two hundred Vinçotte specialists are on the move every day in order to give an objective assessment of the safety aspects of electrical installations, machines, appliances and cables.
Inspections, expert appraisals and risk analyses in respect of:
- Electrical high- and low-voltage installations
- Electrical measurements and analyses
- Electrical equipment of machines
- Commissioning or checking prior to bringing into service
- Periodic inspections
- Thermal-imaging tests for all kinds of electrical installation
- Lightning protection installations
- Risk of fire and explosion in electrical installations (ATEX)
- Cathodic protection
- Electrical installations and electrical medical appliances in medical premises
